About JRB Photography
My name is John Robert Burrow, and I have a passion for photography.
I am a native of Tennessee, a Ph.D. Candidate in History, and the loving spouse to a wonderful wife and partner based in Mississippi in the Southeastern United States. While researching abroad in England, I rediscovered my love for photography, and quickly began immersing myself in anything and all things photography. While I still photograph many different genres of photos, I enjoy photographing streets, people, and urban environments the most. I seek to produce Fine Art Photography focusing on the intimate relationships between subject and environment with a keen eye on contrasting light that provides striking and moody emotions to the viewer.

At my core, I am a storyteller by nature. Alongside photography, I enjoy writing fiction, poetry, and history. My desire to tell compelling and engaging stories is helpful in my work as a historian as well as a photographer. I firmly believe that photographs can serve a purpose beyond simply being aesthetically pleasing. While aesthetics are indeed a major part of my photographic images, I wish to tell a story and convey a deeper emotional response with my work. As such, I am interested in producing fine art street and travel photography.
I am a FujiFilm X-Series user. However, the gear one uses doesn't truly matter. Cameras are fun, exciting, and intriguing. However, what matters most is the person behind the lens. A good photograph looks pleasing; a great photograph tells a story and conveys a feeling about not just the subject but also the photographer.
